When safety performance becomes verifiable

A 4.5-year field program explored how management systems, connected evidence and underwriting can translate prevention into measurable business value.

A 4.5-year field program

Choco Insurance and The Safe Builders Alliance studied a selective cohort of contractors with current ISO 45001 certification and self-directed safety programs. The work connected operational data from cameras, IoT, water, fire and other controls across thousands of smart construction sites.

The program began with dozens of Israeli contractors and is informing a global Alliance model. The Alliance is expanding through local chapters while keeping one global purpose: stronger safety culture, shared learning, lives protected and a measurable Return on Safety.

What the research reported

  • About a 70% reduction in accident, damage and claim indicators across the observed cohort.
  • An observed loss ratio below 30% in the studied portfolio.
  • Conservative actuarial modeling at a 45% loss ratio, compared with a market reference of at least 60%.
  • A modeled potential Return on Safety of up to 35% for eligible contractors under the stated assumptions and program economics.

How to read these figures

These figures describe historical observations and modeling presented by the research authors. They do not prove that ISO 45001, IoT or AI alone caused the results. They are not a promise of savings, return, coverage, captive participation, distributions or future performance.

Choco Insurance develops insurance and risk-financing services for eligible contractors. The Safe Builders Alliance convenes the community and advances learning. They are institutionally separate, and participation in the Alliance does not create entitlement to an insurance product or economic benefit.

The Safe Builders Alliance is not affiliated with or endorsed by ISO. ISO develops standards; independent certification bodies issue certificates. Nothing on this page promises savings, returns, dividends, insurance coverage, procurement preference or captive participation.
